Introduction
Forests play an essential role in maintaining ecological balance, regulating climate, and conserving biodiversity. According to the FAO (2020), more than 80% of terrestrial species live in forests, which serve as a vital shield against climate change. Battles et al. (2001) also emphasized that biodiversity in forest ecosystems is crucial for maintaining ecosystem health and resilience. The protection and sustainable development of forests are among the top priorities in global environmental policies, as deforestation can lead to ecological imbalance, negatively affect agriculture and human livelihoods—especially for communities dependent on forests (IPCC, 2019).
In addition to their environmental role, forests significantly contribute to socio-economic development. According to the World Bank (2004, 2021), forests provide essential resources such as timber, medicinal plants, and agricultural products, creating jobs and improving incomes. FAO (2014) highlights that over 1.6 billion people worldwide depend on forests for their livelihoods, including approximately 70 million indigenous people. Furthermore, forests are important cultural spaces for many indigenous communities, preserving traditional knowledge related to nature conservation (Bate, 1991; Glotfelty & Fromm, 1996). However, deforestation not only results in the loss of diverse ecosystems but also threatens the traditional cultures of ethnic groups closely tied to the forest. Boley and Green (2016) argue that ecotourism can foster a sustainable symbiotic relationship between economic development and the conservation of natural resources. On the other hand, Banerjee (2010) and Ahtikoski et al. (2011) warn that uncontrolled tourism development in protected areas can have adverse impacts on ecosystems and wildlife. This is further supported by studies from Bötsch et al. (2018); FAO and UNEP (2020), which show that even seemingly harmless recreational activities such as hiking can significantly disturb wildlife, particularly forest bird species.
Globally, literature has long been used as a powerful tool to raise environmental awareness. A notable example is Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring (1962), a work that not only awakened public consciousness about the environmental effects of pesticides but also played a key role in sparking the global environmental movement. Carson used literature to deliver a strong message about the necessity of protecting nature, and her book’s influence continues to this day. Another prominent work is The Overstory (2018) by Richard Powers, a novel that explores the relationship between humans and trees. The book has changed the way many readers perceive the importance of forests and nature. Powers skillfully weaves together the stories of characters who each have a unique connection to trees, portraying the redemptive power of nature in facing human challenges.
Beyond these two examples, several studies have shown that literature is not merely a form of entertainment but also a powerful medium for conveying environmental messages. A study on the role of literature in enhancing environmental awareness asserts that “literature can engage the public in environmental issues through the emotions and experiences it evokes” (Mishra et al., 2017). Furthermore, Tajane et al. (2024) argue that environmental literature helps “authors and readers alike build awareness and foster positive actions toward environmental protection.” From an ecocritical and literary perspective, Dar (2019) affirms that “literary works not only reflect the state of the environment but also pose ethical challenges to readers, urging them to contemplate the future of our planet.”
In Vietnam, the Tay Nguyen is one of the regions with the largest area of natural forest, playing an important role in both environmental protection and the cultural life of ethnic minority communities. According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (2020), forests in the Tay Nguyen cover an estimated 2.57 million hectares— accounting for 17.5% of the country’s forest area—with a forest cover rate of 45.94%. These forests help protect water sources, maintain ecological balance, and regulate the climate for surrounding areas. However, the region faces serious threats from illegal logging, land-use conversion, and climate change (UNEP, 2019). Rubber and coffee plantations, along with hydropower projects, have led to the destruction of hundreds of thousands of hectares of natural forest, seriously affecting ecosystems and the livelihoods of indigenous communities (Tran et al., 2018). In this context, raising awareness and promoting efforts to protect forests have become urgent tasks, requiring the involvement of the government, communities, and civil society organizations. One important method to promote changes in awareness and behavior is through literature. Literature not only reflects reality but also has the power to convey profound messages about forest protection, evoking emotions and a sense of responsibility in each individual.
In Vietnam, some authors have addressed environmental issues in their works for decades. In Đất rừng phương Nam (Doan, 1957), the author vividly depicts the natural landscape of the southern forests, portraying a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. In the 1980s, environmental themes continued to appear in literature. Mùa lá rụng trong vườn (Ma, 1985) refers to changes in the natural environment and their impact on human life. Muoi rung (Nguyen, 1986) denounces environmental destruction, while Những ngọn gió Hua Tát (Nguyen, 1989) reflects the changes in the living environment of upland communities, indirectly raising the issue of nature conservation. In the 1990s, Người của núi (Y, 1996) portrays the deep bond between Central Highlanders and their forested homeland, conveying a message about the importance of protecting the living environment of ethnic minorities. Continuing this theme, Canh dong bat tan (Nguyen, 2005) depicts environmental degradation in the Mekong Delta, reflecting the consequences faced by people when nature is destroyed.
Among these pioneering authors, Nguyen Ngoc (1956; 1965; 1971; 1978; 2018; 2019; 2020a; 2020b; 2021a; 2021b) plays a particularly important role. He is not only a renowned writer but also an active advocate for the protection of Tay Nguyen forests. His works such as Đất nước đứng lên (1956) and Rừng xà nu (1965) not only describe the natural beauty of the Tay Nguyen but also convey a powerful message about forest conservation and the cultural identity of ethnic minorities. The image of the Xà Nu tree in Rừng xà nu (1965) symbolizes both the resilience of the Central Highland people and a warning about the dangers of deforestation and its consequences for the future. Nguyen Ngoc used literature as a tool to raise community awareness about environmental issues, warn of the risks of deforestation, and encourage conservation efforts. His works have not only been included in school literature curricula but have also inspired researchers, environmental activists, and local communities. The integration of literature and practical action has helped spread the spirit of forest protection beyond academic circles and into the communities of the Tay Nguyen—those most directly affected by deforestation.
However, despite these important contributions, there remains a gap in research on the role of literature in environmental protection in Vietnam. Most previous studies have analyzed Nguyen Ngoc’s works from historical, cultural, or political perspectives, but there is limited research focusing on how his literature contributes to raising awareness of forest conservation in communities. Therefore, this study aims to fill that gap by evaluating the impact of Nguyen Ngoc’s literary works on raising awareness of forest protection and his influence on the environmental conservation movement in the Tay Nguyen.
Research Methods
This study employs qualitative research methods to analyze how writer Nguyen Ngoc conveys messages about forest and environmental protection through his literary works. This approach clarifies the process of spreading awareness about forest conservation within Tay Nguyen communities and evaluates the impact of literature on community perception and environmental protection actions. To achieve the research objectives, three main methods are applied: textual analysis, in-depth interviews, and comparative analysis with works by other writers on environmental issues.
Textual analysis is used to examine how Nguyen Ngoc presents the theme of forest conservation in his works. Major works such as Đất nước đứng lên (Nguyen, 1956), Rừng xà nu (Nguyen, 1965), Các bạn tôi ở trên ấy (Nguyen, 2021a), along with environmental essays like Người Tây Nguyên “làm” văn hoá như thế nào (Nguyen, 2018), Rừng Tây Nguyên và các vấn đề phát triển bền vững (Nguyen, 2019), Chúng ta đang đánh mất Tây Nguyên như thế nào (Nguyen, 2020a), etc. are selected for analysis. During this process, important elements—including nature symbolism, forest imagery, character depictions, and environmental messages—are examined to clarify the role of literature in raising community awareness about forest protection.
The study employs a mixed methods approach, combining semi-structured in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys. The sample consists of two main groups: expert group (n = 30) and local community group (n = 300). The expert group is selected using purposive sampling, including ethnologists (n = 8), writers (n = 7), environmental activists (n = 10), and literary scholars (n = 5). The selection criteria are based on: (1) at least 5 years of experience in literature, environmental fields, or Tay Nguyen research; and (2) in-depth knowledge of Nguyen Ngoc’s works, demonstrated through related academic or professional contributions.
The local community group (n = 300) is selected using stratified random sampling from five major provinces in Tay Nguyen, where Nguyen Ngoc’s works show clear influence. To further enrich the research, we also conducted in-depth interviews with five environmental activists working at local forest conservation NGOs and representatives from ethnic minority communities. The research methodology is systematically summarized in (Table 1). These interviews were conducted over 18 months (from January 2023 to June 2024), each lasting 60–90 minutes and recorded with participant consent. All data were coded and analyzed using thematic analysis with NVivo 13 software. Detailed sample characteristics are presented in (Table 2).
Theoretical framework
This study applies Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations theory (1962) as the main theoretical framework, combined with Ecocriticism perspectives to analyze the impact of literature on forest conservation awareness. According to Rogers (1962, 2003), diffusion of innovations is the process by which a new idea spreads over time through communication channels within a social system. This theory is particularly suitable for analyzing how environmental literature affects community awareness (Tajane et al., 2024).
The study applies the four core elements of the Diffusion of Innovations model:
1/ Innovation: Analyzing Nguyen Ngoc’s unique approach in combining literature and environmental issues. Kerridge and Sammells (1998) argue that the use of cultural-ecological symbols in literature can bring about profound changes in social awareness.

The analytical framework is illustrated in (Table 3). The study supplements the Ecocriticism perspective from Armbruster and Wallace (2001) to deepen the analysis of the relationship between literature and environmental awareness. Dar (2019) emphasizes that the persistence of literary messages can lead to sustainable changes in community awareness (Table 4).
Results and Discussion
Biography and career of nguyen ngoc
Nguyen Ngoc (real name: Nguyen Ngoc Ban) (Table 5), born in 1932, is one of the most influential authors in modern Vietnamese literature. He is known not only as an outstanding writer but also as a pioneering intellectual in various fields, particularly environmental protection and sustainable development (Nguyen, 2020a). His literary career is closely tied to the Tay Nguyen, where he lived and worked for many years. His firsthand experiences with local communities allowed him to vividly portray the region’s nature and people in his works (Dinh, 2006). Beyond mere descriptions of landscapes, his writings emphasize the profound connection between forests and humans, highlighting the critical role of forests in the cultural and economic life of Tay Nguyen communities (Nguyen, 2019). As a writer and journalist, Nguyen Ngoc has published numerous works reflecting social realities, where the Tay Nguyen forests are not just settings but also cultural and ecological symbols. He has actively participated in social campaigns advocating forest conservation and preserving the cultural identities of ethnic minorities (Nguyen and Ho, 2019). Several of his works have significantly contributed to raising awareness about nature conservation and the cultural values of the Tay Nguyen. The The social influence of his literary works is analyzed in (Table 6) and the corresponding themes are presented in (Table 7). His writings hold both artistic merit and serve as vital documents reflecting the region’s environmental and human realities (Le, 2021).
Beyond literature, Nguyen Ngoc has made substantial contributions to raising forest conservation awareness through journalism and social activism (Do, 2020). He has written articles calling for forest protection, warning against uncontrolled deforestation and the rapid degradation of the Tay Nguyen ecosystems (Nguyen, 2020b). His articles have been published not only in literary journals but also on environmental platforms, spurring critical discussions on forest conservation and sustainable development (Nguyen, 2021a). Additionally, he has actively engaged in scientific conferences on environmental issues, combining theoretical and practical approaches to develop conservation solutions (Nie, 2024). These contributions solidify his role as a key figure in Vietnam’s environmental movement (Le, 2021). More than a writer, he is an environmental activist who uses literature as a tool to shift public awareness and action toward nature conservation. His ideas and works continue to resonate powerfully, inspiring future generations to protect forests and preserve the Tay Nguyen culture.
The spread of forest conservation awareness across four periods
Innovation period: Literature as a medium for raising awareness
In Vietnamese literary history, prior to Nguyen Ngoc, authors like Doan Gioi in Đất rừng phương Nam (Doan, 1957) and Y Phuong in Người của núi (Y, 1982) touched on forests, but few systematically or deeply used forests as central themes to convey environmental and cultural conservation messages (Dang, 2023; Ksor, 2023). Nguyen Ngoc’s innovation lies in his multifaceted approach to the theme of forests.
Communication channel phase: Works and forums disseminating messages
Nguyen Ngoc’s works have been disseminated through a diverse system of communication channels, forming a multi-dimensional and effective media network. For traditional channels, his works have been widely distributed via printed and reprinted books, regularly featured in newspapers and literary magazines, and deeply discussed at literary conferences and academic forums (Truong, 2024; Ylieng, 2024). Concurrently, in academic spaces, his works are frequently cited in environmental studies, serving as key references in university courses and topics for professional discussions on conservation (Tran, 2013). Nguyen Ngoc’s innovative contributions are itemized in (Table 8). Notably, in the digital age, his messages have also spread powerfully through social media platforms, literary websites, discussion videos, online interviews, and modern formats like podcasts and audiobooks.
Nguyen Ngoc’s communication strategy is systematically constructed through three principal approaches. First, he employs a multi-layered narrative technique, characterized by the development of multidimensional characters and the sophisticated integration of adventure with cultural exploration. This is further enriched by a harmonious blend of storytelling and philosophical reflection on nature. Second, he establishes deep cultural-historical engagement by portraying the cultural identity of the Tay Nguyen, reflecting the transformations within its cultural landscape, and capturing the temporal imprints embedded in communal life. Third, his intergenerational connectivity strategy is actualized through outreach to younger audiences via digital platforms, while simultaneously sustaining traditional readership through print media and fostering intergenerational dialogue through dedicated forums.
The diversification of communication channels has produced substantial impacts, significantly broadening the range of influence—from academic circles to the general public, from traditional to digital readerships, and from local communities to the national scale. Communication effectiveness is notably enhanced through increased reader interaction, facilitated feedback mechanisms, and the promotion of public engagement. Of particular importance is the sustainability of the conveyed message, which is preserved through the literary valorization of content over time, the adaptation of themes to align with contemporary trends, and the integration of literary discourse within modern conservation initiatives.
As noted in the study by Tran (2017), the multi-channel communication strategy has engendered a profound shift in public perception regarding forests as shown in (Table 9). Forests are increasingly viewed not merely as geographical entities but as dynamic cultural domains; not solely as exploitable natural resources but as heritages warranting preservation; and not simply as natural landscapes but as cultural-historical spaces. This shift in perception has catalyzed a heightened awareness of the cultural significance of forests, fostering proactive environmental protection behaviors and enhancing community participation in conservation efforts. Simultaneously, a connective network has emerged—linking readers across generations, uniting conservation-focused groups, and creating a meaningful intersection between literary expression and social action.
In sum, the integration of literature into contemporary communication campaigns not only facilitates the broad dissemination of forest conservation messages but also constitutes a sustainable communication model—one capable of adapting to the evolving landscape of technology and society.
Temporal phase: Evolving perceptions over time
The transformation in public and academic perceptions of Nguyen Ngoc’s literary works can be delineated into four distinct developmental phases. During the period from 1965 to 1975, his writings were predominantly received within the framework of war literature, with an emphasis on the resistance theme. In this context, the image of the forest was construed as a symbol of national strength and the resilient spirit of the Tay Nguyen people amid American intervention in southern Vietnam (Nguyen, 2009a, 2009b). In the subsequent phase, from 1975 to 1995, a significant shift in perception began to emerge as attention expanded toward the cultural dimensions of the Tay Nguyen, accompanied by growing concerns for environmental issues and studies on cultural identity (Ngo, 2007).
The 1995–2015 period marked a reconfiguration of value through the development of an ecological perspective, the advancement of interdisciplinary research, and alignment with global conservation movements (Linh, 2012). By the phase of 2015–2025, a multidimensional, integrative approach has taken shape—incorporating diverse perspectives, applying research outcomes in practice, and expanding influence via digital technology (Lieng, 2023).
This transformation has been catalyzed by a convergence of multiple factors as shown in (Table 10). At the macro level, global concerns such as climate change, environmental crises, and the shift toward sustainable development have provided the backdrop for the reinterpretation of Nguyen Ngoc’s literary contributions (Nguyen & Ho, 2019). Domestically, changes in environmental policy, the rise of ecological research, and the growing environmental consciousness of the public have created favorable conditions for the reception of new values embedded in his works (K’Twi, 2023). Notably, the advancement of digital technologies has opened up novel avenues for the dissemination and interaction with these texts.
In the field of research, significant methodological and thematic transformations have occurred. Research approaches have evolved from purely literary analysis to interdisciplinary investigation, from qualitative-only methodologies to mixed-methods approaches, and from individual inquiry to collaborative research initiatives (Nguyen et al., 2020). Thematically, studies have not only broadened their scope but also delved deeper into environmental dimensions, forging connections with pressing contemporary issues. Particularly, the application of research findings has been enhanced through the development of practical conservation models, environmental policymaking, and the design of educational programs.
The influence of Nguyen Ngoc’s literature on both policy and practice has become increasingly evident. In policymaking, his works have contributed to forest conservation policies, supported sustainable development projects, and aided in the preservation of indigenous cultures (Nguyen, 2020a). Practically, these influences are manifested in changes to community forest management, the promotion of sustainable livelihood models, and the increased participation of local populations (Nguyen, 2020b; Siu, 2023). In the educational domain, his literature has been integrated into curricula, developed into teaching materials, and used to promote environmental education.
Looking forward, experts forecast that the influence of Nguyen Ngoc’s literary corpus will continue to expand along three principal trajectories. Academically, there will be an emphasis on expanding interdisciplinary research, enhancing international collaboration, and developing innovative research methodologies. In terms of practical application, priority will be placed on the advancement of creative conservation models, integration of digital technologies, and strengthening of community engagement. Regarding societal dissemination, his influence is expected to grow through social media, emerging communication platforms, and the strengthening of intergenerational connections (Nguyen et al., 2020). These developments not only preserve the contemporary relevance of Nguyen Ngoc’s works but also contribute meaningfully to building a sustainable future for both forests and the culture of the Tay Nguyen.
Social systems phase: Impacts on community and policy
Nguyen Ngoc’s literary works have exerted profound influence on the operations of environmental organizations across various levels as summarized in (Table 11). International non-governmental organizations have actively incorporated indigenous knowledge into conservation strategies, developed community-based projects, and built multilateral cooperative networks (Ybriu, 2023). Domestically, organizations such as GreenViet have advanced environmental education programs, Save Vietnam’s Wildlife has integrated literature into conservation activities, and the Tay Nguyen Nature Conservation Center has intensified both research and application efforts (VTV, 2023). Notably, a close-knit cooperative network has emerged, facilitating the exchange of experiences and resources among conservation groups (Van, 2019; Vuong, 2022).
At the local level, numerous community-led initiatives have been developed. Volunteer forest protection groups such as the Village Forests of the Ede, Jrai, and Ba Na peoples, as well as groups like Sacred Forests and other community-based organizations, have been established (Pham et al., 2019). These groups engage in activities such as forest patrols and monitoring, indigenous knowledge preservation, sustainable livelihood development, and the organization of traditional rituals (Yngong, 2023). The fusion of traditional ecological knowledge with modern technology has led to the emergence of unique sustainable management models (Phan, 2010).
In terms of policymaking, Nguyen Ngoc’s literary influence is evident at both national and local levels. At the national level, concepts derived from his works have been reflected in the Law on Forest Protection and Development, the Forestry Development Strategy, and the Biodiversity Conservation Program (Le et al., 2020). At the local level, policies concerning forest land use planning, community forest management, and indigenous cultural preservation have been formulated and effectively implemented (K’De, 2023). Enforcement mechanisms include monitoring and evaluation systems, cross-sectoral coordination frameworks, and provisions for technical and financial support (Ka, 2024).
In the fields of education and research, the impact of Nguyen Ngoc’s literature is demonstrated through the integration of environmental content into curricula, the development of instructional materials, and the organization of extracurricular activities (Pham, 2017). Scientific research has progressed toward interdisciplinary directions, with the development of novel methodologies and the application of technology in conservation. Concurrently, professional capacity building has been prioritized through conservation staff training, community capacity enhancement, and the establishment of expert networks (Bui, 2023; Ksor, 2023).
Sustainable management models have been developed based on three main pillars: (1) Resource management, through conservation zoning and forest land use planning; (2) Livelihood development, via community-based ecotourism, non-timber forest product utilization, and agroforestry; and (3) Cultural preservation, through documentation of indigenous knowledge, safeguarding of traditional rituals, and development of cultural spaces (Vu, 2011).
Nevertheless, the implementation process faces multiple challenges, including economic development pressures, conflicts of interest, and limited resources. To address these issues, proposed solutions include strengthening multilateral cooperation, developing benefit-sharing mechanisms, and innovating management approaches. Future directions emphasize sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and the preservation of cultural identity.
It can be concluded that the integration of literature, science, and practical experience in Nguyen Ngoc’s works has laid a solid foundation for the development of effective conservation policies and initiatives, while also fostering active community engagement in protecting both the forests and the cultural heritage of the Tay Nguyen.
Nguyen Ngoc’s concrete activities in forest protection
Between 2015 and 2023, Nguyen Ngoc played an active role in forest protection through a range of research and field-based advisory activities in the Tay Nguyen. One of the most prominent efforts was the project “Survey and Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Old-Growth Forests in the Tay Nguyen” (2018–2020). As a senior advisor, he collaborated closely with scientists from the Vietnam Academy of Forest Sciences to collect and analyze data on forest ecosystem changes (Lo, 2024). Communiity –led conservation activities are cataloged in (Table 12). The findings from this research became a crucial foundation for developing local conservation policies for old-growth forests. Notably, in Dak Lak Province, from 2019 to 2021, he conducted in-depth research on the traditional farming practices of the Ê Đê ethnic community in relation to forest conservation, contributing significantly to the successful establishment of a “Community-Based Forest Management” model, now widely adopted across the region (K’sor, 2023; Ythoai, 2023).
Beyond research, Nguyen Ngoc also initiated several key forest protection initiatives. A notable example is the “Watershed Forest Restoration” project in Krông Bông District (2020–2022), where he played a central role in linking non-governmental organizations with local communities. The project successfully regenerated 500 hectares of degraded forest. In addition to environmental benefits, it also provided sustainable livelihoods for local residents through a model of community-based ecotourism (Do, 2023; Yblok, 2023). In 2021, he made a significant breakthrough by founding the “Tay Nguyen Forest Protection Network”, a non-profit organization that achieved major milestones, including the establishment of three forest monitoring stations in Kon Tum and Dak Lak, the organization of 12 forest protection training courses for 300 local residents, and the formation of five community forest patrol teams (Truong, 2024).
In his leadership roles within environmental organizations, Nguyen Ngoc has demonstrated wide-reaching influence. Since 2019, as the Head of the Advisory Council at the Tay Nguyen Nature Conservation Center, he has led the development of the 2020–2025 Biodiversity Conservation Strategy, designed project monitoring and evaluation programs, and coordinated international cooperation efforts (Ky, 2024). Simultaneously, as a member of the Scientific Council of GreenViet (2018–2023), he chaired environmental impact assessments for 15 development projects in the Tay Nguyen, developed a set of sustainability assessment criteria for forest development projects, and successfully advised on the establishment of three new nature reserves in the region (Duong, 2024).
Nguyen Ngoc’s practical activities have produced measurable and concrete impacts on forest protection in the Tay Nguyen. By integrating scientific research, policy advisory work, and on-the-ground action, he has played a pivotal role in developing sustainable conservation models and encouraging active community participation in forest preservation efforts.
Conclusion
The study on the diffusion of forest conservation awareness through the works of Nguyen Ngoc highlights the significant role of literature in promoting environmental consciousness and conservation actions. Through the analysis of selected literary works and field surveys, the research has yielded notable findings regarding the mechanisms of diffusion and the impact of literature on conservation practices. Nguyen Ngoc’s literary contributions have shaped a unique model of diffusion that integrates literary values with ecological thought, demonstrated through four key phases: a cognitive shift from exploitation to conservation; diversification of communication channels; an evolution from war literature to ecological literature; and widespread impact on the social system.
His works have played a pivotal role in bridging indigenous knowledge and modern science, enriching conservation methodologies and enhancing the effectiveness of community-based forest protection programs. The influence of Nguyen Ngoc’s literature extends beyond the literary realm, making tangible contributions to conservation policy and forest management practices. This is evident in the development of sustainable management models and the active engagement of local communities in forest conservation.
Based on the research findings, several recommendations are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of future forest conservation efforts. In terms of policy, there is a need to develop a comprehensive legal framework for integrating indigenous knowledge into conservation policies, while also establishing mechanisms that encourage community participation in forest governance. From a practical perspective, it is essential to design integrated training models that combine ecological knowledge with local cultural values and to promote the application of technology in forest monitoring and protection.
In the field of research, further studies should explore the interrelations between literature and environmental conservation, as well as develop methodologies for assessing the influence of literature on environmental awareness. Future research should focus on the development of integrated conservation models that combine science, culture, and practice, while simultaneously strengthening the capacity of local communities in forest management and protection. Establishing international networks for research collaboration and conservation practice is also a strategic priority.
This study not only clarifies the role of literature in environmental conservation but also provides a scientific foundation for the development of effective conservation policies and programs in the future. By integrating literature, science, and practice, the diffusion model proposed here has the potential to be scaled and applied in other conservation contexts, thereby contributing to global environmental protection efforts.
