Abstract
This study aims to analyze the ideal and visual preference of forest trail landscape and tree density in edge of forest trail by conducting questionnaire survey. The survey on the ideal preference of forest trail landscape was conducted by using just questions without any visual materials such as photos, pictures. And the survey on the visual preference of tree density in edge of forest trail was conducted by using images modeled by SketchUp 3D modeling program. The results are summarized as follows. In the case of survey on the ideal preference of forest trail landscape, curved forest trail was preferred over straight forest trail. And thick, snug and narrow trail was preferred over thick, bright and wide trail. Preferred unpaved trail and trail with the natural edge rather than cleaned edge or planted flowers. Also, trail edges with mixed stand was preferred over with conifers or hardwoods. In the case of visual preference for tree distance(m) by DBH(cm, D) of simulated Pinus koraiensis stands, 3m(range of 2~5m) at D<25, 4m(range of 3~6m) at 25≤D<40 and 5m(range of 4~7m) at 40≤D were preferred.
KeyWords: Forest road, Forest landscape preference, Pinus koraiensis, Therapeutic forest
