한국 전통정원의 식재 배치 유형에 관한 연구

Abstract
For proposing guidelines for designing the traditional Korean gardens applicable to botanical gardens and arboreta, we studied on the space characteristics by planting design, selected plants species, and the meaning of them referred to reference books or painted in pictures comparing to present design. Taking the characteristics of the traditional Korean gardens in palaces, retreating villas, and houses into consideration, it was important to choose the plant species and garden elements which could represent Korean traditionality and symbolism. And we made examples of planting design diagrams considered spatial function, meaning of planting design, plant species, and garden elements. From results, we suggested the guidelines for designing the traditional Korean gardens which could be applied in domestic and foreign botanical gardens and arboreta.
