Abstract
In this study, we investigate effective conditions for barrier-free in urban park. Through the park users’ evaluation of urban parks which were appointed by Japan’s New barrier-free law, we sampled 219 urban park users. With a statistical analysis of correlation and one way analysis of variance, the results were obtained as follows: first, the evaluation of the users’ satisfaction of the park’s facility was high. However, restroom was relatively low. The height and the information contents of the Bulletin board in the evaluation were contradictory between the two stratum of users who were handicapped or non-handicap. Secondly, The two stratums had different correlation factors in satisfaction. Thirdly Even though the space maintained by guideline had a variety of user’s complaints and requirements for each facility. Finally, The maintain of facility were needed with consider a variety of users and their behavior patterns can choose from a variety requires and more detailed and can accommodate the needs of users of the criteria may be needed to compensate.
