Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the effects of horticultural activity program(HAP) in generation between the elderly and child on the life quality of the elderly and psychosocial behavior of child. The elderly living in Masanri and Wolsunri, Muangun and child of Sungnam kindergarten in Muanup and Purunsol kindergarten in Chyungkyemyun were participated in this program. The HAP was conducted one times per week from 12 November to 28 May. The level of life satisfaction and child image was significantly increased after HAP than before HAP in the elderly. The mean value of depression was decreased after HAP than before HAP in the elderly, but it did not show the significant change. In child, change of psychosocial behavior was not significant, but mean of emotional behavior was significantly lowered to 19.26 after HAP compared with 21.47 before HAP. The image level of the elderly was significantly increased by 8.08 after HAP than before HAP in the child. Therefore, HAP in generation between the elderly and child promoted the life satisfaction and improved the child image in the elderly. Also, it was effective in improvement of emotional behavior and the elderly image of child.
